Q1 . What generation is this?
A . This is a digital night vision device that uses a CCD chip to process incoming infrared light . It is not a traditional night vision device that amplifies light using a Photocathode tube, which is usually defined by different Generations. This device uses the same technology as infrared security cameras. Comparatively though, it would fall somewhere between a Gen1 and Gen2 night vision in terms of visual quality.
Q2 . How far out could I pick up a deer or coyote?
A . Can easily see 300 yards .
Q3 . Does it have a NVG mount skrew on it so it could be mounted on helmets ?
A . It's too big for a helmet mount . But I did mount it on a rifle, and in conjunction with a IR laser designator (bought separately) , it makes a pretty good varmint eliminator .
